With respect, I must vehemently disagree with those who claim this game has "no instructions." The very first screen of the game has a whole "book" of instructions. There are also two settings (Junior or Senior Detective)--Junior helps you through the game by providing an ongoing checklist that expands as you progress through the game, and the game also takes notes for you to assist with solving puzzles. Additionally, the HeR Interactive web site has a message board community full of tips and hints, plus a huge number of members who are on seemingly at all hours and willing to lend a helping hand.
Now, these games are a bit more challenging than "hidden object" games--for those try the Nancy Drew Dossier series.
It's actually been refreshing to play these games--HeR Interactive respects you enough to assume that, if you love mysteries, you have a brain in your head that you like to use to figure things out, whether with a lot of help or flying solo.
Check out the reviews on this site for the boxed PC games, and you'll hear the same from others.
