The game itself is fun, for what it does. It's a simple game involving a faerie who needs to fly around the screen collecting pollen for the Great Tree. As you do this, a backstory unfolds of creatures being captured, possible treachery and so on. As you collect pollen, you start to develop a long ponytail. When it gets long enough, a sound prompt lets you know you have collected the maximum you are able. When maxed out you can then attack the various other creatures flying about which increases your score. Otherwise you need to avoid them or you'll lose your pollen and health until you've lost a life. As you advance in levels, you earn points you can spend on improving your strength, health, agility, and magic power. You also earn special "wings" of various colors you can use to assist in various ways depending on which wings you choose to use.

The game itself is rather unique and the faerie you control responds well to your mouse movements. The background song, while repetitive after a while, is still catchy and pleasant to listen to. I have only one problem with this game. Twice now it has completely erased all my saved data for no apparent reason forcing me to start over from the beginning. The first time I wasn't very far so I didn't mind too much, however this last time I almost finished the game. I won't be repeating all these hours for a third time, especially since I don't know the cause. I use CCleaner frequently to clean all the, well you know, on my computer and it's possible the program is identifying player data as temporary file and deleting. This game picks up right where the first one left off: Cassandra helps a client look for her missing brother, Michael. There is a mix of Hidden Object and Mini Games. The HO games have some twists in that sometimes you have to solve a riddle to figure out what HO you are looking for, and in some you have to pick up pairs of objects at a time. In most of the games you find items that help you perform other actions in the scene, for example, you find elements of a salad and then make the salad. Some of the items are hidden behind other objects in the scene and you must feel around with your cursor to figure out what needs to be moved to find the item.

There are a good variety of mini games, but some are more challenging than others. The card games are rather boring, but I enjoyed a labyrinth game and the mahjong ones. There is one game where you have to fix a face in your mind in one scene and then recreate it from memory in the next that was unique.

Ir's a relaxed game, untimed with ample chances to get hints, but you probably won't need too many of them.

And yes, at the end of the game you will find that Cassandra's journey continues in a future game! Based on the past two games, I will be looking forward to the next chapter.

I downloaded this game as a trial-with-ads from another site, and was considering buying it from Amazon (which has a much better price) until I got stuck on level 6.

First of all, this is really a very good HOG - it's a very long game with many locations to explore. The objects are (mostly) difficult but not impossible to find, and each room has a few items that have crossword-like clues (rather than names) that require a bit of thought. The game is timed, but there is no penalty if you run out of time. Moreover, as you collect ankhs along the way, you unlock additional games - Luxor Classic, Luxor Match-3 and Endless Search and Find, so you're really getting four games for the price of one.

A few objects are a bit *too* well-hidden (I couldn't see them even when I resorted to the hints), and some are hard to click - I'd resort to the hints, only to see that I'd found the object but hadn't clicked on the right part of it. It doesn't help that the cursor is a big, clunky bejewelled thing and you can't opt out of it. Most of the mid-level mini-puzzles are ridiculously easy, and I wasn't crazy about the storyline - it's a bit too mystic-weird for my tastes.

It's the marble-shooter that ruined the game for me. Every level ends with Luxor Classic, and you have to win before you can go to the next level - there is no way to skip past it. I have no hand-eye coordination and simply could not beat this thing. CONS: Tons of controls... buttons buttons buttons and buttons - very hard to move around fast and feel fluent with all these buttons - Batman Ark. Aslm. is so much easier, faster and cooler at this point., especially if playing "splinter cell" first time... for get about it.

There is no way to remain stealth, but that's the only way to have a crowd control.

Another dumb part is that the guy has to "buy" things when he can simply take them - why? because everybody around him is already dead.

The graphics, once again compare to Batman AA this game has so poor/gloomy graphics (I'm running it on high) and besides that I didn't see 1920X1080 resolution in the settings. Batman looks much more exciting.

STORYLINE... Well, I don't know what to say - I guess they just picked one of those good old Commando ideas... So not inspiring. (eg. Hitman games got a cool storyline. AC 1 got great storyline. AC II got okay storyline... Batman... blah blah blah)

I played this game for one hour and went totally cold to it. However, if you're completely bored and have absolutely nothing else to do... well, it's not one of those old fashion first person shooter games where you have a vertigo after 30 min or so :)

Maybe hyperbolic, but I really feel this is the best game I've played so far.

It's a hidden object game where finding objects and gathering an inventory is a lesser aspect of the game. More interesting and challenging is what you have to do with the inventory you collect. There are several locations to explore and you have to go back a few times to most of them. You really need to think what inventory object to use and how to use it when you encounter a situation or problem in a location, and inventory picked up much earlier in the game may not come into play until well into the game.

The inventory objects are not just located in the hidden scenes, but in some of the locations; for example, all the VHS tapes are outside the HO scenes. I admit to checking a blog walk through after playing for a length of time just to make sure I had found everything and performed all the tasks.

The mini games are also top notch and include a maze-like alphabet game that I thought was especially clever.

The storyline involves four grad students searching for the truth about a Celtic legend in the town of Dire Grove. As others have mentioned, you collect about 18 VHS tapes that tell the story in snippets of what has happened to the students. I didn't find the short films as scary as four scenes involving each student that occur within the game itself. But no spoilers on that! The whole game takes place in a snowy environment that I found particularly immersive for some reason.

My only regret is that I didn't know there was a deluxe version of this game before I got the standard version. Although I usually have no desire to replay a game that I know the conclusion of, I have to say I would consider buying the deluxe game after some time passes. That's how much I liked this game.

"Treasure Seekers" is not only a treat for the eyes, the artwork being beautiful, it is also an excellent hidden objects game that will appeal to everybody including that bright eyed kid beside you. It is the perfect game to play with your child, but not so easy as to be a pushover. So old and young can play it with mutual contentment and joy.

Nelly, our heroine, a personable young lady with spectacles on her nose, is trying to find her brother Tom who has mysteriously been trapped in a remote castle in Romania. Nelly must work her way through six magical paintings, each a separate story in which she helps a person in distress, such as a genie in the very first painting, trapped in Aladdin's lamp. Of course Nelly has to free the genie so that he becomes human again. She restores many trapped ghosts into real people again as she travels on her quest. She restores a werewolf to her human shape and meets a decidedly aristocratic vampire, a pirate and King Arthur.

As she progresses from inside one painting and its story to the next, Nelly has many tasks to perform, which could be turning the lamp on in a lighthouse or repairing a bridge to finding a magic medallion under the sea. She will gather tools and objects to help her with the various tasks she must perform and often has to go in and out of several areas to find everything required.

In each scene Nelly must find and click on a " key object" that produces five or six little circles containing a black and white picture of each object she must collect in order to use the key object. These objects are well hidden but they are to scale for that particular scene and also appropriate to each particular canvas theme.

The mini-games are not all that easy and make a nice diversion as well as being fun. Nelly has to solve sequence puzzles, tangrams, matching pairs and others. The games can be skipped if you like but they're pleasant and interesting.

You can play in Casual and Advanced mode. In Casual the hint mechanism charges much more quickly and if Nelly is having trouble finding something the game will oblige you by putting up a circle of little bright stars right where you need to click.

"Treasure Seekers" is charming, not earth -shattering but charming, a game that will appeal to virtually all casual gamers, including children. If you don't use too many hints or skip the mini- games, the game should take about five hours. Perhaps you may feel it's a bit short but it is certainly worth $6.99! I loved it!

There are a total of 25 levels but they are so easy it takes no time to get through them. The "puzzles" consist of color matching, walking through a maze with a map, and matching sequences. Even if you do get stumped trying to find an object, all you have to do is roll your mouse around and it will show you where the item is.

I just downloaded this game. Haven't played it yet (hence the average rating). I just wanted to make sure if anyone else has the same problem I did they can fix it. The game loaded! :) Once it was loaded I was able to go into the options and switch it to run off of 1280 X 800, (it was automatically switched to 1024 X 768 and apparently has to run on that setting until you switch it) and when I switched my computer back it seemed to accept the settings. I exited and reloaded it, to see if it would work, and it loaded up with no error messages. So (knock on wood) I think I fixed the problem and I just wanted to post it so that if you download the game and can't load it maybe this will help. I saw that Amazon.com had Cryostasi available as a downloadable game for a great price. I'd heard good things about this game and the demo was available, so I thought I'd give it a try. What a dog it turned out to be.

Firstly I cranked all the graphics setting to their highest in the options menu. I have a nice gaming system that gives me great frame rates with most of the newest games(LFD2, Bioshock 2 etc...)maxed out graphics wise. I usually start there and adjust down if needed. I normally don't need to. After I had done this with Cryostasis and started the game, first thing that happened was my system froze... Or so I thought. A couple of seconds later, it went to another frame, seconds later another, etc... I knew right away this was going to be a dog. I turned the graphics down quite a bit and still had a choppy frame rate.

Combat was chunky. Graphics looked awful. I tried playing for a few minutes and decided it wasn't worth suffering through to see if there was anything interesting about this game. I'm so glad I tried the demo first. Even at the low Amazon price of about $6.50 for the full game, I would have felt like I flushed that money down the toilet.

VV4 is similar to the previous versions but this one is extremely Pantheistic. It focuses on the "Tree of Life", which is almost dead and the villagers must heal it. To do this they must first restore the water flow to it from the blocked stream and remove an infected limb; there are stages of healing. Then they must "purify" their minds by using transcendental meditation ("only the pure of mind and body can purify the tree") and taking a soapy bath (for which you figure out how to create the soap). They must also "honor the tree", and "contemplate the tree" (worship it). Basically Eastern mysticism. The tree is deified as the source of life in this game. You can also build a school for the villagers but you cant choose what they are taught; they are taught reading, writing, music, and magic. There is also a mausoleum in the game and one of the goals is to collect all 12 of the missing tiles which make up a very creepy picture composed of what look like skeletons with hideous faces which are pulling people down into the grave/hell. I found this part to be very morbid, sinister, creepy, just plain disturbing- and would not want this for a child. The focus on death in this particluar game included having the ghosts of deceased villagers randomly appear in the game (as spirit guides to "hidden" objects).

Like previoous versions of VV, there are three levels to achieve in the game. Unfortunately, once all three levels in each area are reached, there is nothing much left to do with all the tech points you have left over! One is left wishing that there were more than just three levels for each area (areas include Science, Building, Learning, Dendrology, Medicine, and Food).

The graphics of the game are wonderful and even beautifully done, with some very unique, inventive, and challenging goals to figure out as well. However, as it advanced it began to feel like the goal of the game's creators was indoctrination in Eastern religion or Pantheism. Or, it may all just be marketing towards the interest that kids often have towards ghosts and magical or supernatural things. This is a Hidden Object Game with 3 main variations: finding objects in a scene (using a list or silhouettes of the objects), finding one object x number of times, and matching small mosaics of the scene with the big picture. For a hidden object game, the subject matter is pretty intense. A little girl, Rose, has visions. Her father on the advice of a sadistic psychiatrist, confines her to an asylum. The game revolves around Rose using her powers to help her uncle solve various gruesome murders.

I play a lot of adventure games and puzzle games, with a few hidden object games thrown in. I give Azada Ancient Magic five stars for fun and four stars overall. The point off is because the game is mid-level difficulty (versus harder puzzles/gaming, which I like), and it's just a little short. Not obnoxiously short, but a bit short. As I write this review, amazon has it for sale at less than $5 (plus shipping), so Azada Ancient Magic is a top value for your dollar.

The storyline is fun. You enter famous books and interact with their characters, such as Sherlock Holmes and Baron Von Munchausen. I think the scenes are delightfully drawn. There isn't a lot of moving/video action, but that doesn't bother me - not every game needs to be a sim.

The game is a great mixture of puzzle gaming and adventure gaming.
Puzzles: The puzzles are all different and creative. Some are quite simple, such as matching rock samples. Some take a while to figure out the best approach, such as the drop puzzle, where you have to create wood blocks, stacking them in such a way that colored liquid drops unite to form a large drop (rather than seeping out the box). [Hard to explain, guess you need to try it to understand!] Some are common types, but take patience to figure out - and you can run out of time! An example of this is a pipe puzzle, where you have to turn pieces of pipe so that everything is connected.

Overall, I found the puzzles a lot of fun and some are wonderfully unusual (creating moons). I would rate them medium difficulty. A nice challenge for a 10-12 year old, and fun but not super demanding for an adult.

The other part of Azada Ancient Magic is adventure point and click/inventory/combination, etc. Example: You need a crow feather so you have to attract a crow to a bird feeder. In one room, you find a crust of bread and a meat grinder. You combine these two inventory items to get bread crumbs which you take to the bird feeder. In addition, before you can take the bread and meat grinder, you have to figure out a way to get the restaurant owner out of the dining room so you can "borrow" them.

Some of the adventure moves are very creative. I don't want to give it away but I'll say that I loved the Jekyll & Hyde set up! I would say that the adventure part of Azada Ancient Magic is also medium difficulty. I did get stuck a couple times, which is aggravating at the time, but also makes the game good!

I have no idea why this game is going so cheap because I really had a good time playing it. It's put out by Big Fish games and Activision. Play a few rounds of Pure Hidden. Never boring, always beautiful- I found myself laughing and shrugging my shoulders one minute, and mired deep in addicting challenges the next. I read some of the bad reviews and I have to say it was not as bad as all that, considering it's a bargain bin hidden objects game. If you don't like hidden object games, you probably won't like this one, either. But if you find them relaxing, then it's a pretty cool (albeit short) one! Since the storyline involves mental illness there are some cool effects to make some hunts more challenging, like spots and wavy lines when your character is having a "migraine", or lights flickering on and off when something is wrong with the electricity.

There's a little bit of tedium in how the interface is designed; after you find the objects you need to complete a task, you have to open object windows on the task and manually move the items you need onto the task in order to complete it. This would make sense if you had to choose from available options, but usually you have only and exactly the items you need for the one task, so I don't think they needed that extra step of selecting which things to use.

The atmosphere is creepy and the storyline is interesting, especially if you haven't seen the movie and don't know how it's going to end. Overall it was a good diversion/relaxation game, like most HOGs, totally worth the $7 price tag ;)Get more detail about Shutter Island [Game Download].

It seems in games you have two choices, the occult or cartoonish. This is a shame. One portion of this game especially was extremely distastefull to me. Overall, this is a fun, challenging game for teens and adults. (Of course, kids are smarter than in my day and may be able to do it, but I wouldn't have been able to make 'hide nor hair' of it.) This is a very fun addictive game. All you do is cook food for customers until they start running out in frustration then you lose stars. The more stars you lose the closer you get to losing the round. Customers come in all varieties and the black female customers are more short tempered (it even mentions that in the directions) the younger white males are the least short tempered.
You are cooking alot of different things from fried eggs to short ribs to pork chops or chinese food, and have to hurry up and get it off the boiler before it burns, then you have to walk all the way to the other end to put ketchup and mustard on it upon request.
You have orange and strawberry juice machines. Then there's Granny who only does burgers, salads and sandwiches to help you out. You serve sliced cake and cookies. If you take too long, the customer will walk out w/out the desserts causing you to lose money.
If you make something accidentally that someone didn't order you will have two options: either to wait until someone comes along who will want it (usually a long wait), or throw it out which will cost money.

Big Kahuna Reef 2 is a surprisingly addictive and challenging game that takes everything you loved about the original Big Kahuna Reef and raises it up about ten notches. Everything is bigger and better in this game - the number of puzzles, the amount of skill (or luck) required in conquering all of the levels, the excitement of forging your way to Big Kahuna status - heck, even the exotic fish you unlock as you advance through the levels are bigger than before. I initially worried that the new "chain reaction" aspect of the game would take away some of the challenge, but I was wrong. Once you solve all of these puzzles, the other two sections of the game are unlocked. The Tiki Challenge consists of 36 different puzzles, the last dozen or so of which can prove somewhat daunting; I'm still trying to finish the last of these, but I'm determined to beat it or die trying. Rounding out the trio of sections is Other Adventures, featuring no less than 600 puzzles created by players of the game from all over the world. If that's not enough, even more levels can be downloaded online. We're talking untold hours of fun and exciting game play here, making Big Kahuna Reef 2 well worth the minimal cost of purchase. Unfortunately, the language barrier had me leaving the game at the first quest/mission objective, to join a fighter formation. I'm not sure if it was buggy and didn't detect my fighter moving in range or if I missed a crucial piece of information in translation.

With respect, I must vehemently disagree with those who claim this game has "no instructions." The very first screen of the game has a whole "book" of instructions. I really enjoyed the first Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes, so I bought the second one as soon as it was released. I was not disappointed, and I enjoyed this game just as much as the first. The gameplay and style are exactly the same as the first game, but the sequel offers new cases. For those unfamiliar with the series, this is primarily a hidden object game, punctuated by logic-style puzzles at the end of each chapter. The game features a series of Sherlock Holmes cases, and you must search a variety of locations to find clues to solve the mystery. Each location reveals a number of potential suspects, and the conclusion involves solving a logic and memory puzzle to determine which party is guilty. The cases are well-written, and the hidden object scenes are appropriate to the time and place in question (late-19th c. London). The suspects are believable, and the objects one must find to discover suspects are appropriate to the story (perfume bottles for the mistress of a prominent politician, for example). Those who enjoyed the first game will certainly want to play the second. Don't expect innovation, just more of what made the first game fun. This is a great game! Fun and challenging. I got addicted to restaurant/cooking games every since I placed Order Up on Wii and Restaurant City on Facebook, and have been playing them like mad. I love the concept of this game and the challenge of having to search for every ingredient, though it does make your eyes hurt from staring at the screen for so long, but only because you're so hooked. The only problem I saw with the game is that in the 1st level of the sushi restr. the expert goal seems a little high for that phase and I could never quite reach that goal even though I excelled in every other phase and levels of that particular restaurant and all of the other restaurants. I liked this enough to start with to buy it after the 30-minute trial. Good artwork, and in the beginning, the puzzles were fun and while challenging, totally do-able. And then after a while it lost its novelty. The puzzles start to be the same each time--match two, or make the green goo go from top to bottom, or some maze puzzle. I never did understand the one with the electrical charges, but by then I was becoming bored with it so I played till it allowed me to skip it and move on. I'm tired of the same puzzles every time so I did not finish it. It also seems like it is FAR more puzzles than hidden object. Only every 6th or 7th screen was hidden objects. I enjoyed playing this game so much! It combines hidden object searches, mini-puzzles, and requires combining inventory items to solve complex chapters. Each chapter has several locations that require back and forth object searches to solve the overall puzzle for each chapter. The mini-puzzles are challenging, but logical. The hidden objects searches involve traditional and non-traditional varieties. For example, one type requires you to finding matching pairs. Some of the pairs are quite obvious, e.g two birds; however, some require a little more thought, e.g., matching a wedding 'ring' with the 'ring' around Saturn. This the absolutely the first story that I even enjoyed at all. Usually I just play the puzzles and games and put up with the story to get to the puzzles. This time, the story actually enhanced that game. The programmers clearly had a sense of humor and it shows. If you enjoyed the Dream Chronicles and Princess Isabella, you will probably really enjoy this game. The graphics are really much better than most of these games. I was sad when it ended after about 4-5 hours. I would have loved to have several more chapters to complete. I have loved every Mystery Case Files ever made, and get very excited when a new one comes out. I purchased Madame Fate, and although I think it is designed well, and is fun to play, I was TOTALLY CREEPED OUT by the the dead, bloody clown in the cage, the comments from the Madame, and the overall vengeful serial killing spree theme. Halfway through the game I had to delete it from my computer because it was just too creepy. I didn't want it in my house! And I've never deleted a game before that I had paid for.

I would like to share with the creator to PLEASE not make the next MCF so evil and creepy. I know some people probably like that, but in order for it to have more overall appeal, I don't think it's necessary to get so DARK. For example, Dire Grove was great! What a cleverly planned game. The plot: you're in a dead-end, boring cubicle job but always dreamed of doing something more interesting. One day you see a TV ad for a Magician's Handbook and, thinking this could be your big career change, you order the thing. What ensues is your magical training, which takes you to Cursed Valley where you'll need to find and defeat the cause of the valley's curse.

Like many HOG games, this one gets harder as you work your way through the 13 chapters. You have the option to play it timed or not. (Since I play to relax, I chose the casual mode.) This game has several twists the others I've played have not. First, in addition to looking for objects on a list, you're also looking for magic coins and "repel" markers (more on that in a sec). Get enough coins and you unlock new wands. I'm not sure what they do but, hey, they're pretty.

Along the way you, the magician apprentice, are learning new spells. One of the more important spells is Repel. See, this game is beautifully done but each of the locations is subject to atmospheric distractions: flying magic books, spiders dangling from threads, glittering gold, etc. At first I didn't pay much attention to those distractions, but as the game goes on you start to realize they really *do* distract. That's where the Repel spell comes in; by finding a repel marker -- or using your spell -- you can eliminate the distractions and, at the same time, make the picture considerably clearer so it's easy to locate hidden objects. Of course, all spells fade in time, so you'll need to hunt fast or wait until the spell charge renews itself.

The story line is charming, with plenty of humor. The game play is fun, although some of the items at the highest levels were VERY difficult to locate. It took around 7 hours total for me to finish this game (see previous comment about casual play), and when it was done I jumped onto Amazon because I plan to download the sequel as soon as I'm done typing this.
